Fosse Co-Operative Camera Club

19th February 2017
I went along to Fosse Co-Operative Camera Club's presentation night for the Inter-cities competition as our club competition secretary suggested I did. I was puzzled as to why as I had nothing entered but since I expected it to be a good show and our club had some entries I went with Georgina.

Towards the end of the evening, with Peter Cheetham judging, an image came up in the final six that looked exactly like one of mine, even down to the long exposure used. It was really weird watching this duplicate image being judged. In the event, the image of the Victorian shelter by the boating lake on Sheringham sea-front, entitled "Solitude" was judged to be the best individual image in the Inter-cities competition 2017 and the winners name was read out as being Bill Allsopp! As always of course in these things the judge was wrong, I saw some much better images on show that night.

Two days later, as I write this, I still have not figured out how Coalville and District Photographic Society came to enter this on my behalf, as I have no recollection of having sent it to them!
