Shooting Infrared

16th September 2016
The infrared camera conversion (see previous post) is producing some fabulous images. I know it can't last but at the moment every time I go out yet another fine image falls onto my sensor. Judging the results that will be obtained is initially a challenge and requires some careful thought and each new day produces different conditions and locations so there is always something to learn.

Although the camera can be used hand held using a tripod always gives the best results allowing a lower iso and therefor a cleaner image. Whilst with the Fuji X Trans sensor iso 6400 is very acceptable with correct sharpening for the iso chosen will always produce cleaner results and I will work at iso 200 whenever I can and if I have to go higher will restrict myself to 800 if at all possible.

Here are some results from the last week, they are all for sale through which is my new monochrome site, sales through this site will resume as soon as we have moved into our new home. The move has been delayed by the abysmal service, or rather lack of it, from Severn Trent Water (STWA) who never ring back when they say they will and on Wednesday failed to turn up to connect the water AND gave no notice, explanation or apology. The company is a disgrace.
