Tuition and talks
Two hour, one to one, courses looking at basic development techniques and focusing on monochrome and / or colour development using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS. Progressing from RAW file to screen and print.
Participants can bring a small selection of their own RAW files on a memory stick or CD if they wish which we can work on together in the second part of the session.
Course includes two hours tuition, an A3 print on Epson Archival Matte of your own image after development as well as a copy of the developed tiff file and tea or coffee and biscuits. One to one tuition is usually available 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday inclusive. Please provide some alternatives.
Price £48.00 payment by cash on the night please or £50.00 by Paypal in advance (the extra is to cover their charges). Please only pay by Paypal after we have agreed on the date!
Tuition is given using my 27" iMac but don't be put off the differences to a PC are negligible! If you wish to do more advanced black and white development you will need Photoshop CS to make the most of your images but a lot can be done with Adobe Lightroom; please tell me when booking if you do not have Photoshop CS (version immaterial).

Talks to clubs
are charged at PAGB rates which currently for my vehicle is 50p per mile plus £10.00 to cover printed handouts and refreshment of prints displayed. I offer a print based talk on Digital Monochrome Methods." Other talks are being worked on including a talk featuring my landscape pictures in colour.
To avoid conflict with dates when I may be away on a shoot I now take bookings ONLY BETWEEN November and February inclusive.

Thank you again for stepping into the breach at short notice. It was a real gain for us, too, because of the quality of your images and the discussion accompanying them.
It was really excellent, especially as you gave a good number of pictures explaining and illuminating your approach and stage-by-stage creation of each of them as needed from the chosen site and subject to a finished print. This was real instructive work. We were shown the “why and the how” and in the latter case the skilful use of ‘Photoshop’ and other resources. This is what photographers need at our level. (So often we see a series of lovely pictures but learn little of how the seeing eye chose an item and created the photo). Yours was a thoroughly useful, enlightening and varied lecture delivered in an absorbing style. No wonder you were given a spontaneous round of applause!
It is, by the way, not often that we see the work of a master in the area of black and white; it was a bonus which opened our interest as it showed the riches of that practice and how to derive full benefit from it (again by practical examples).
A very special evening which we all greatly appreciated and enjoyed.
