The main part of the electrics are in, all that remains is for me to connect the interior lights when the insulation and paneling have been done. I have yet to install the reversing camera and this will have to be done before the insulation is completed but a start can be made on some areas.

The electrics are now in the van. This is not a job I would tackle myself and I had the work done by a qualified auto-electrician I have known for many years. He sourced a good capacity battery that was not too tall so it would fit under the passenger seat..............

I was in the fenland of Cambridgeshire a few weeks back; to many the area is flat and boring but whilst it is flat it is not boring to me at least. It is quiet, peaceful and tranquil and that is why Georgina and I went there. Just for a few hours peace. As always of course I took the camera in the hope that I could make one or two classic fenland shots.

Photographers block is like writers block but with even less words and no pictures. I think most artists suffer with it from time to time and I seem to have a spell every year when I struggle. If I kept a diary I might be able to work out a pattern.....

Well at last President Barack Obama has gained the consensus needed to pass legislation to increase the US debt ceiling and avert a financial default. It raises the debt limit by $2.4tn (that's $2,400,000,000,000) and makes savings of at least $2.1tn in 10 years but the bill's passage has failed to lift financial markets ......

Bunch of Gerbera in a vase, boring huh? Been done a thousand times, so it needs a twist. Get two simple glass vases and ten Gerbera, set up a plain white backdrop and take a picture just of the backdrop, the why will become clear soon.

High key photography is a technique, which works well with young women, children, flowers and other beautiful subjects although it can of course be used to effect in other situations. The idea is to have the image lighter than normal and not to have any deep shadows BUT do not confuse this with not having full blacks in the picture.

Tuesday's deadline for the USA's debt default draws ever closer and brinkmanship for political power continues to endanger the world. What endangers it more however is our modern value structure. What do we want? More! When do we want it Now!

Yet again politicians are proving that political power matters more than the people and country they are charged with protecting. Will the USA default on it's debt? Will world finances go into meltdown again? Perhaps we will find out today, what we already know is never trust a politician.

I watched part of the Wimbledon match between Marcos Baghdatis and Novak Djokovic last night. I'm not a tennis fan as such but I am a believer in sportsmanship. Marcos displayed the best attitude I have seen for a long while and the crowd loved him for it. My congratulations to you Marcos!
